If I reflect upon my own experiences of clothing my sense of sartorial comfort is determined by what ‘feels’ right. Due to the nature of the fashion garments, as soft, semi structured things that wrap around our bodies; the way in which this sense of comfort is realized and maintained requires a series of sensitive and adaptive movements. I might adjust the garment in different ways. For example, I might roll up my sleeves or hitch up my trousers so they sit a bit higher on my hips. The sense comfort realised by these movements isn’t a static point, but rather a forward going series of movements where the body and garment respond to each other in a mutual kind of becoming or exchange.
